Financial Workshop

Parents and kids to receive financial aid guidance for college and skills training programs

March 15, 2016 (Nashville, TN) – The ladies of the Parthenon Chapter of the Links, Incorporated will help parents and their kids navigate the sometimes challenging college financial aid and application system. The group of business-professional women has lined up a team of local experts who will work closely with attendees. The workshop will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 16 at Rocketown & Sixth Avenue Skatepark. The event is free and open to the public, specifically middle and high school students. Lunch will be provided.

During the two-hour program, attendees will learn how to complete FAFSA forms, receive help finding scholarships, learn tips on how to finish college and training programs free of debt and much more. Parents will also receive information and much needed support with helping their kids through the college and skills training process.

“Education is the gateway for success and too many times our kids miss out on a chance for success because they don’t know how to find the money they need to learn. Their parents sometimes also get lost in the college system and can’t be of much help to their kids. We’ll, that’s where we step in,” said Sharon Peters, an event organizer and member of the Parthenon Chapter.

Helpful tips will not be the only thing attendees will receive that day. Door prizes – tablets, gift cards, movie passes and more – will be given away.
