Parthenon Links in the News

The Links, Inc Tennessee Cluster Take to "The Hill"

The Tennessee Cluster of the Links convened for its annual Links Dat at the Capitol on March 30/31, 2015. Nearly 50 links sisters from around the state fille the two days with activities of advocacy and action. Links led a worskshop with school kids, teaching them how to create and pass a bill. Links also spent time before legislators, advocating for legislation impacting the African American community such as Insure Tennessee.

Links Parthenon Chapter, Co-host  of Domestic Violence Awareness Event

October 10, 2015

“In observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. hosted a ‘My Sister’s Keeper,’ program designed to combat domestic violence in Middle Tennessee,” according to President and Tennessee State Rep. Brenda Gilmore. The forum was held at the Goodwill Center on Saturday, October 10. The program was designed to teach women the signs of domestic violence and to help them speak up for themselves or for their loved ones who might be victims of abuse.

The event was hosted by a group of organizations, including the Links, Inc. Parthenon Chapter. Carolyn Qualls, president of the Parthenon Chapter, delivered remarks on behalf of the chapter.
